Once again, another trip to London resulted in another loss for Leeds United, this time at Stamford Bridge.

It was a real rollercoaster of a game. Leeds took the lead early on through Raphinha, then Mount equalised and Jorginho tucked a penalty away to give the hosts the lead. Then in the closing stages, Joe Gelhardt levelled it up off the bench, looking to have secured a memorable point for his side. But, with seconds on the clock, Chelsea won another penalty, with Jorginho ensuring it was the same outcome as earlier.

It was heartbreak for Leeds, but supporters can be proud of their efforts away to title contenders. Despite that, Illan Meslier was ripped into on social media, especially for his role in Mount’s goal.

“Meslier’s distribution with his feet is awful.” @ikonlover

“Such an avoidable goal to concede. Chelsea pressing high and we try and play it out from the back. Just hit it long!!” @nc_irons

“Meslier is so frustrating…” @Run_lenny

“Meslier said it’s his day off.” @lufcj33

“Meslier’s positioning for that first Chelsea goal was absolutely atrocious.” @dryandtasteless

“Meslier is such a liability with the ball at his feet” @PeterHiggins3

First up in this 2020/21 LUFC quiz, which of these players did NOT score against Liverpool in the 4-3 defeat at Anfield?

Meslier has been key to Leeds and their three clean sheets this season, but clearly frustration with aspects of his game are bugging the fans. His importance to Bielsa is paramount, especially when you see he has played every minute in the Premier League this campaign.

It’s clear though, that he has his fans feeling frustrated with him, he’s only young but still has plenty to improve on.
