Leeds United fans have been reacting to comments made by Marcelo Bielsa as he addresses his future at the club.
Given the Whites’ rocky start to the season, their recent historic 7-0 loss against Manchester City, the fact that the club sit just five points above the relegation zone and with Bielsa on a one-year contract, it does create some doubt about whether he’ll be able to carry on much longer.
Bielsa addressed his future at his most recent press conference (as per Phil Hay) and he launched a scathing attack on the idea of him quitting at any point soon, stating: “I’m going to fight until the end of the season without any doubts. I hope nothing happens that doesn’t allow me to do that.”
He then went on to say: “Do you think there’s a coach who can’t be sacked? Do you think I’m so vain that I think I can’t be sacked? After losing 7-0, these are the circumstances I live through. All I can do is fight.”
The comments left a number of Leeds United fans rather fired up when they saw his remarks come across their timelines on Twitter:
“Whoever thinks he should be sacked needs to be locked up.”
Will Bielsa be at Leeds next season?
Yes
No
It was certainly a strong response from the Argentinian, but if he doesn’t start picking up results soon and Leeds are plunged into a relegation battle, then the decision might very well be taken out of his hands.
