West Bromwich Albion fans were delighted to find out that their squad has been handed a boost ahead of their Championship fixture on Friday night, as Valerien Ismael revealed four players were returning to first-team contention.

Football clubs up and down the country have been struggling this week with virus outbreaks, with games being postponed all over the place.

Thankfully for West Brom, they’ve received a boost from ahead of their next game. Following Ismael’s latest press conference, journalist Joseph Masi confirmed that the four players who missed the last game with Reading will be returning against Barnsley.

Will West Brom go up via the play-offs?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

Cedric Kipre, Matt Clarke, Semi Ajayi and Conor Townsend were all forced to self-isolate before the clash with the Royals, but they are now allowed to mix and train with the first team again.

What the West Brom fans said…

“Wouldn’t risk it.”

@BaggiesTom1

“Siuuuu, assume game is going ahead?”

@wbaethan

“Surely you can’t be bringing them back straight away after 1 day of training? You’re just asking for further injury to them… #wba.”

@_Simonian

“Huge news.”

@danwba_

“Give us the trophy.”

@BradSmith_24

“C’mon the boys!”

Clearly, there’s a mixture of opinions between the fans, with most happy to have them back in the side, though there are a few that feel it isn’t worth the risk.

If the four players have all returned negative tests, then it is difficult to see how it would be a risk to get them involved. You would imagine they will have kept up their fitness levels in the meantime as long as they were not affected too badly by any illness, so heading straight back into the team may not be an issue, either.

To kick off this quiz on West Bromwich Albion's 2019/20 season, how many points did the Baggies end the 2019/20 Championship campaign with?

A win tomorrow evening would see West Brom draw level on points with Bournemouth in the automatic promotion places, keeping them in the hunt for an automatic return to the Premier League.
