Celtic fans have been reacting to the performance of Nir Bitton during their Europa League clash against Ferencváros.
The game was a crucial one for Ange Postecoglou’s men after losing their first two games in the group stage to Real Betis and Bayer Leverkusen, they managed to bounce back with a win against the Hungarian side their last time out, and would have been hoping for the same again to keep alive their hopes of progressing through the group stages.
They would go on to win the game, however, not everyone was up to scratch on the night – or at least that’s what the supporters who were watching the game at home seemed to think.
The Israeli international was slammed for his performance for the Bhoys, with some fans accusing him of not really bringing much to the team:
“Man down with Bitton.”

Bitton did actually manage to put in a relatively acceptable performance stats-wise, as he performed well in a number of categories including a pass completion percentage of 89% as well as winning the joint-third most aerial duels and joint-most tackles of anyone on the pitch (via WhoScored), but it seems as if these fans looked beyond the stats and felt that he still could have contributed more.
