Ahead of his first game as the Newcastle United head coach, Eddie Howe has been speaking to the press about their upcoming clash against Brentford.
Howe was appointed as Steve Bruce’s successor following their last Premier League outing against Brighton & Hove Albion and had the latest international break to work with his new side.

No
Discussing what the fans can expect from his Newcastle United, Howe offered some insight as to what his philosophy will involve as his tenure kicks off properly at St. James’ Park on Saturday.
“I’d like to think you’ll see a team playing in the way I want them to and in a way befitting of what the supporters want to see. I like to think you’ll see a team playing for the supporters, the badge & doing the city proud,” Howe said.
And Newcastle fans flocked to the club’s tweet relaying the comments as they voiced their delight at Howe’s positive comments ahead of his first game in charge.
What did these Newcastle fans have to say?
“Oh. My. Days.”
It is not expected to be an easy ride for Howe at St. James’ Park as the Toon currently sit second-bottom, only ahead of Norwich City – but do come into the game on the back of a battling draw against the Seagulls.
These fans are clearly delighted at the prospect of their side playing more attractive football, and that is of little surprise as they currently sit on -12 goal difference in the Premier League table having scored just 12 goals themselves.
