Lots of Newcastle United fans have flooded to Twitter in reaction to a fresh claim to emerge in the Tyneside club’s search for a new permanent manager.
According to Fabrizio Romano, a deal is close to being agreed between Newcastle and the former Roma manager Paulo Fonseca following talks over the weekend.
Should NUFC appoint Fonseca?
Yes
No
The Italian journalist was speaking on the Que Golazo YouTube channel and stated “everything is agreed” between the club and the Portuguese manager with a decision expected to be made this week.
Toon fans flooded to the tweet from NUFC360 relaying the transfer insider’s latest comments on the club’s search to replace Steve Bruce following his departure last week.
What did these fans have to say?
“GET IT DONE”
Fonseca was heavily linked with a potential move to Tottenham Hotspur during their summer search for a manager but a reported deal fell through before they appointed Nuno Espirito Santo.
With Graeme Jones taking over on an interim basis, it seems these fans would love to see the former Roma manager hired as the club look to avoid another relegation scrap.
