Many Tottenham Hotspur fans have aired their frustrations online after journalist Alasdair Gold provided an update on Ryan Sessegnon’s fitness.

Spurs signed the once highly-rated youngster from Fulham back in 2019 for a fee in the region of £25m. However, due to injuries and a loan spell with Hoffenheim, the 21-year-old has featured just 14 times for the north London side.

Sessegnon has been missing from action since picking up a knock on international duty back in September, and now Gold has quoted Nuno Espirito Santo admitting that the winger will be ‘out for a while’ with his current injury.

Will Ryan Sessegnon ever come good for Spurs?

No

Gold shared the information on his Twitter feed and a number of Tottenham supporters readily offered up their thoughts on the matter.

What did these Spurs fans say?

“Is he ever going to be fit? Think we need to cut ties with him imo he’s never going to get in the first team with the constant injuries.”

“Got to be one of the most disappointing transfers we’ve had over the last few years. Doesn’t seem like he’ll ever make it for us at this stage.”
“Just needs to get fit. Always a setback with Sess. Frustrating.”
“£30m and I can’t even remember the last time he played. Had quite high hopes for him given his reputation but boy it’s been a disaster.”
“Needs to be sold.”
“For what he has cost he has to be up there with one of the worst signings in our history.”

After bursting onto the scene as a teenager with Fulham, Sessegnon once looked like he had all the makings of a future superstar. Indeed, he joined Spurs at just 19 years of age, having scored 25 goals and provided a further 18 assists in 120 outings for his former club.

As is evidenced by the tweets, however, things just have not worked out for the Englishman with his current side. This latest setback is probably the opposite of what Sessegnon wanted to hear, and no doubt he’ll be hoping to get back on the pitch as soon as possible.
