Leeds United fans have been reacting to injury news surrounding Kalvin Phillips ahead of their Premier League game against Wolves this weekend.

The 25-year-old has been out of action for a few weeks now having picked up a calf injury that forced him to miss the last international break as well as their loss to Southampton this past weekend.

And it appears as though will be out of action for this weekend’s clash as well, as Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa explained in his press conference (via Phil Hay) that he would be taking a cautious approach and wouldn’t risk him even though he is deemed ‘healthy’:

Who was Bielsa's first competitive game as Leeds manager against?

Hay revealed on Twitter: “Bielsa says Phillips is ‘healthy’ but because he’s been missing for three weeks, putting him in against Wolves on Saturday would be ‘too quick. To think of him for Saturday would be too soon, before he is at his best.'”

This was an update that did not go down well with the Leeds United fans when they saw it come across their timelines, as some of them tore into Bielsa for his thinking process:

“Relegation confirmed.”

“He’s lost it completely needs to go I think just waiting for ‘Raphinha travelled from South America a week ago so needs another month off’ pathetic”
“So another defeat beckons due to Bielsa’s insistence on having a small squad how on earth do we establish ourselves in the EPL with this sort of naive approach?”
“The man is totally losing the plot”
“Sounds madness this”
“More to this then meets the eye”
“Oh my god no way”
“Sorry but this is why Bielsa has never won anything. He’s an entertainer, not a winner. His squads are way too shallow in depth, we’ve won game from 8 and mainly down to poor decisions. I love the man, he’s a legend but his way of football will not bring success.”
“We have already lost then”
“Absolutely baffling this, Bielsa always puts Phillips straight back into the line up regardless of what injury he has. Doesn’t make sense at all.”

Will Kalvin Phillips leave next summer?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

Given how important Phillips is to this Leeds side, you hope that he’s able to make a return to the side as soon as possible so that the club have a fighting chance of moving up the table.
