Newcastle United fans have been reacting to claims surrounding Paulo Fonseca following suggestions that he might be about to take over as manager.
The club appear to be making pretty swift progress when it comes to appointing a new manager following the departure of Steve Bruce. It has been reported in The Daily Mail that the former AS Roma, Porto and Shakhtar Donetsk boss has held talks with the club about the vacancy.
The report claims that “discussions did not end with a definitive answer”, but that Fonseca was able to go into detail about his plans for the club, noting that the Portuguese tactician “has already started to put together strategies for the team’s forthcoming fixtures in the event of securing the job”.
The news was relayed to Newcastle fans by @NUFC360 for them to react to, where it seemed to go down pretty well amongst the Geordie faithful:
Should Fonseca replace Bruce?
Yes!
No!
Given that the club’s owners have stated their desire to win things, something that Fonseca has done in the past, he certainly could be a match made in heaven. Now it’s just a case of seeing if they are able to complete the deal.
