Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have been drawn to a tweet from The Spurs Express regarding the majority Spurs owner, Joe Lewis.

According to the Daily Telegraph, when fans were unable to attend games at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium during the pandemic, the idea of Lewis contributing to the books was ‘briefly considered’.

The north London club took out a bank loan of £175m to cover their reported losses over the pandemic, which has since been paid back fully.

With Spurs going into this weekend’s north London derby on the back of consecutive 3-0 defeats, it seems this news has not boosted the fans’ mood as they took to Twitter to slam their 84-year-old owner.

What did these Spurs fans have to say?

“Briefly considered I’m crying”

“LOLLLLL TEARS IN MY EYES RN”
“The fact it was only considered is disgusting”
“Briefly being the key word”
“Brudda you own the club invest”
“Sooner they sell up the better”
“Imagine that…the owner putting money in……unbelievable”

Tottenham’s state-of-the-art stadium will be providing the club with a stream of revenue in the coming weeks, with Anthony Joshua’s boxing match as well as two NFL games set to take place in N17 over the coming weeks.

However, it does not seem these fans have been left impressed with the claim to emerge regarding Lewis, with some even begging the 84-year-old to sell up.
