Sheffield Wednesday fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest post to emerge concerning on-loan Owls winger Olamide Shodipo.

This comes after Wednesday journalist Dom Howson shared a post on his official Twitter page saying that Shodipo has stated he would be open to joining the Yorkshire club on a permanent basis from parent club Queens Park Rangers.

In his post, Howson included an article from Yorkshire Live, where Shodipo said that he is “always open to talks” about his future and where he could potentially move to.

This post from Howson then gathered a lot of replies from Owls supporters, who were not shy in sharing their thoughts and opinions on the winger.

So, what did these Wednesday fans have to say in response to Howson’s post about Shodipo?

“Very early to say but he has been good. Let’s just hope he doesn’t do what Harris did; sparkle after 2/3 games then turn into a potato.”

“He’s got that look of Antonio about him… still very early, but I just expect good things from him”

@JordanOwl23

“Get him signed. Terrific prospect.”

@shefqi

“Yes please”

@ED6ixx

“So far so good. Hope he earns a perm move.”

@nanjayman

“He looks very promising but then again so did Harris in his first month and we know how useless he turned out.”

Looking at the replies to this post from Howson, it seems as though the feeling toward Shodipo from this group of Wednesday fans and the prospect of him permanently signing to the club at the end of his loan spell is rather positive, though some acknowledge it is still early days.

Would you like to see Wednesday sign Shodipo on a permanent basis?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Given how Shodipo missed the start of the season for Wednesday through injury and has only made two appearances for the Owls in League One, as well as in their Carabao Cup defeat against Huddersfield Town, we feel that it’s too early to say whether or not he has earned a move to the club just yet.

The 24-year-old will have to use the rest of his loan spell to prove to everyone at the club that he is worthy of a permanent move to Hillsborough.
