A lot of Tottenham Hotspur fans have voiced their annoyance towards defender Davinson Sanchez on Twitter during the second half of their game against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The Spurs defender started off the season as one of Nuno Espirito Santo’s regular starters, with three starts in the opening three games of the Premier League campaign (via Transfermarkt).
Should Sanchez be starting for Spurs?
However, after travelling to play for Colombia during the international break, the 25-year-old was forced to miss the defeat against Crystal Palace as he underwent a quarantine period in Croatia.
And in his first start since returning, it seems these Spurs fans were left frustrated by his display in the Spurs backline.
What exactly did these Spurs fans have to say?
“Sanchez an absolute liability. Standard”
“More awful disgraceful amateur play from Sanchez who confirms yet again he is NOT a Prem player”
“Davinson Sanchez back to his useless best.”
‘Amazingly bad from Sanchez, and amazingly lucky the ref hasn’t given a pen”
“Honestly Spurs, Sanchez who barely laid a foot wrong all season with a ridiculously bad challenge that almost caused us to concede again.”
“How many awful mistakes has Sanchez already made? Are you sure you’d prefer him over Dier? “
The £28.8m-rated ace did have some speculation surrounding his future with the north London club over the summer with reports suggesting the Colombian was a player they were looking to sell.
After three consecutive clean sheets, Spurs have now conceded in their last four games and it seems these fans felt some of the blame lay on the Colombian’s shoulders.
