Celtic fans have slammed Odsonne Edouard for his disappointing performance in the club’s recent loss in the Old Firm derby.

Over the weekend, the Bhoys made the four-mile trip to Rangers as the two sides met in the Scottish Premier League. In what could turn out to be a crucial moment in this year’s title race, the home side triumphed 1-0 in a tight match.

Edouard’s showing throughout the match has seemed to have drawn the ire from a number of Celtic fans.

One miss, in particular, seemed to sum up the Frenchman’s poor performance, described by the BBC’s Tom English as such: “A veritable sitter too. It would have put them ahead. It might have changed the entire day.”

Here’s what these Celtic fans had to say…

“Seeing that Edouard miss again. Horrendous.”

@docsa2021

“A shadow of the player he was.”

@Nightowl_10

“Can paint the game anyway you want it today. What everyone will agree on is… Edouard’s miss is unforgivable for a professional footballer.”

@16_Gerry

“Ughhhhhhhhhhhh! Another day and we would have smashed them. Edouard’s miss was unforgivable!”

@GazTheKitman

“He downed tools last year and never picked them up again.”

@CaptainMoonlig1

“Edouard let us down”

@Pol76celt1

“Christie and Edouard should leave this club immediately.”

@cgy_981205

“Not even going to miss Edouard at this stage. Empty jersey.”

@IndependentSc17

Edouard has spent a sizeable amount of this summer being linked with a move away from the club, and may well find himself at Crystal Palace before August comes to an end.

It seems as if these Celtic fans believe all the rumours may be distracting Edouard, whose head apparently wasn’t where it should have been for such a significant game in the Scottish football calendar.

With time running out in the transfer window, the forward’s fate for the season will at least be decided sooner rather than later.
