Everton journalist Adam Jones has been sharing his thoughts on the possibility of Toffees striker Moise Kean potentially leaving the Merseyside club this summer.

This comes after Jones made an appearance on a recent video from the Mirror Football YouTube channel where he spoke about a range of topics concerning Rafa Benitez’s side.

Who scored the opening goal in Liverpool's 4-3 win over Leeds United at Anfield in September?

On the subject of Kean, who has been linked with a move away from the club this summer, Jones had this to say on the situation.

He said: “At the start of the summer, PSG were making moves that they wanted another loan move for Moise Kean, but that just doesn’t work for Everton, to be honest.

“Everton needed to get him out on a permanent deal, and they made no secret of the fact that a loan move just doesn’t work out for Everton. It sort of delayed and delayed until Lionel Messi became available and that almost seemed to rule out Moise Kean’s potential move to the Parc des Princes but if [Kylian] Mbappe is to go and they were to look over Everton’s way again, I think Everton would certainly be pushing the fact that Moise Kean’s there, you’ve had him before, you can have him for a permanent now.”

TIF Thoughts on a potential transfer away from Everton for Kean this summer…

Given how Kean has only made 37 appearances for Everton since he arrived at Goodison Park in the 2019 summer transfer window from Juventus for a fee of £24.75 million, scoring just four goals and providing two assists in the process, it’s understandable why the Toffees could be open to selling Kean this summer if an offer comes in.

Do you think Kean will leave Everton this summer?

No

However, in our view, given how underwhelming he’s been for the club, including the fact that he got himself sent off during Everton’s recent Carabao Cup clash against Huddersfield Town, it’s hard to see any club willing to splash out on Kean, who is currently valued at £31.5 million according to Transfermarkt, on a permanent deal.

As Jones mentioned, we feel that if Kylian Mbappe were to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer after Real Madrid reportedly placed a bid for the Frenchman, then perhaps Everton’s best chance of getting Kean out of the club is if PSG chose to bring Kean back to Paris to replace Mbappe after his loan spell there last season.
