A lot of West Brom fans are fuming on Twitter as their club is being linked with a move for Andy Carroll this summer.
Carroll is currently a free agent having been released by Newcastle United following the expiration of his contract this summer, and Dean Windass has urged West Brom to move for the 32-year-old.
Should West Brom give Carroll a pay-as-you-play deal?
The former Liverpool man was only handed four starts in the league last campaign at his boyhood club, where he spent the previous two seasons, but only managed to score one goal in the top flight despite featuring 37 times.
Many Baggies fans are fuming on Twitter that their club is being urged to move for Carroll following Windass’ comments.
What have these West Brom fans been saying?
“Not mobile enough for Val IMO”
“The short answer is no, and the long answer is also no.”
“No hasn’t been any good for a few years”
“Too slow, too expensive, re wages, too old”
“Why would we want him way past it. Rather kept HRK!”
“Oh god no”
Carroll impressed when he broke onto the scene at Newcastle United, firstly in the Championship as he helped the Magpies storm to the title before leading the line in the Premier League, though his first stint on Tyneside was to be short-lived as Liverpool snapped him up for £35 million.
With the way Valerien Ismael has got the Baggies playing in the Championship, Carroll would appear to be a striker that is a long distance away from fitting into the manager’s ideas and style of play.
