Celtic fans on Facebook have been sharing their thoughts on former Chelsea player and manager Frank Lampard potentially being appointed as the Hoops’ new permanent manager.
This comes after Celtic-focused Facebook page Celtic Insider shared a post relaying an article from Football Insider that contained comments from former Premier League striker Noel Whelan claiming that the Hoops should look to hire Lampard as their new manager.
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Celtic supporters who were not shy in sharing their thoughts on whether or not they think Lampard, who has been linked with the job in previous weeks and months, should be appointed.
So, what did these Celtic fans have to say in response to this post about Lampard?
Some were rather positive about the possibility in reaction to Whelan’s comments.
However, there were some Celtic fans responding who were not as keen to see Lampard take the reins at their club as others were.
Looking at the replies to this post, it seems that while the majority of these Celtic fans would welcome the former Chelsea figure as their new manager, there are some who don’t think he would be a good fit for the club.
Would Frank Lampard be a good fit for Celtic?
In our view, while Lampard did well getting Derby County to the 2018/19 Championship play-off final and getting Chelsea into the top four in his first season, the fact that he was sacked during his second season in charge suggests to us that he may not be a good option for Celtic as a long-term appointment.
