A lot of Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to voice their frustration at the latest announcement ahead of their Premier League game against Arsenal on the weekend.

The official Newcastle United Twitter account confirmed on Wednesday referee Mike Dean will be taking charge of their clash against the Gunners at St. James’ Park on Sunday.

Will Newcastle have new owners next season?

Yes!

Yes!

No!

No!

Steve Bruce’s side have eased their relegation concerns after a run of four games with no defeats has dragged them nine points clear of 18th-placed Fulham with just five games remaining of the campaign.

The 52-year-old referee has officiated 52 Newcastle games in his time as a Premier League referee and in those games, the Toon have won 19, drawn 13 and lost 20. (via Transfermarkt)

In response to the announcement of Dean officiating the game on Tyneside this Sunday, the Toon Army flocked to the tweet to give their thoughts.

“Worst referee in the Premier League.”

“Oh no.”

A win on the weekend for the Magpies could all but confirm their spot in the Premier League for next season should Fulham lose their game against Chelsea as it would then leave the Magpies needing just one point to seal safety.

Newcastle fans flocked to the tweet from the club and going by their reaction it is apparent they are far from impressed by Dean being chosen as the referee for the game on the weekend.
