These Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to recent claims regarding their search for a new manager and the role Harry Kane could play.

The North London side are on the search for a new boss following their decision to sack Jose Mourinho last week, putting Ryan Mason in charge on an interim basis. But who is going to be in charge for next season is still up in the air, and according to a report from The Mirror, Kane could be set to play a huge part in the club’s decision.

It states that “Daniel Levy will need to ensure that whoever he decides to hire as Mourinho’s replacement will be to Kane’s liking, as the previous boss was.” Given that Kane could reportedly ask to leave the club this summer, this could be a rather interesting bargaining chip if the club wants to convince him to stay.

However, when the news was relayed to fans via @LastWordOnSpurs, there didn’t seem to be much enthusiasm from the fans over the idea, some unhappy over the power that Kane could have, whilst others were concerned about who he could potentially ask to take over:

“So 1 player gets to decide who the manager is? That’s insanity. Kane is a legend but no way should his be the final word. This current crop of players turned on Poch, turned on Jose, & an embarrassment in the cup final. Get rid, get Erik, rebuild, Levy should back off or leave.”

“The Harry Kane team…..”
“This is very bad, whatever you think of Kane. He is a hero, and he treads on hallowed ground, but even still… we’re not Real Madrid”
“We really gonna get Southgate aren’t we”
&
“Stop it ! Stop this talk NOW”
“Oh no Gareth Southgate”
“Welcome Southgate”

It does seem somewhat of a weird decision to base it off what one player wants.
