Celtic supporters have been reacting on Twitter after reports emerged claiming Patryk Klimala is on the brink of departing the Glasgow giants.

The 22-year-old striker has struggled to find his best form since signing for the Hoops back in January 2020, scoring just three goals in 28 appearances.

Former Paris Saint-Germain forward Odsonne Edouard has been the main man at Celtic Park in recent seasons and has restricted Klimala to just three Scottish Premiership starts this campaign, resulting in the Poland under-21 international seeking pastures new.

According to the Daily Record, MLS outfit New York Red Bulls are close to agreeing on a £3.5m deal for the young hitman, and a large section of the Celtic fans appear to be happy with Klimala’s imminent exit.

“Hallelujah. Money for old rope with this one. Can’t believe any club is parting with cash for him!”

@lindanoble0101

“Great piece of business. This guy was never good enough.”

@ScottDuffy1

“Thank the lord”

@calzo19

“one of the worst transfer windows in our history. Ajetti and berkas should be next.”

@tamrabam1

“No brainer – hopefully we recoup some of our outlay.”

@bhoysviews

“Bit surprised by that tbh”

@CairneyMarc

The proposed fee would allow Celtic to recoup the entire fee they paid for Klimala just 18 months ago, and that’s something the board and the fans are likely to be pleased about.
