Loads of Celtic fans have been fuming after a claim has emerged about the future of Leigh Griffiths.

Alex McLeish was recently talking about the Scottish striker, saying that the forward can’t be happy with the game time that he’s getting right now and any player wouldn’t be in his position.

The former Scotland manager said that the best thing about football is playing regularly and Griffiths isn’t doing that right now. And he feels that if Griffiths is feeling the same way, no one would accuse him of being ‘daft’ and he could leave Parkhead even before a new manager comes in.

A post about this was relayed on Facebook by Celtic Insider. Many Hoops fans made their views clear about Griffiths.

What do Celtic fans make of Griffiths’ future?

Griffiths had turned up for pre-season training in an overweight condition and as a result, was left behind in Glasgow when the Celtic squad had flown to France. Neil Lennon then slammed the striker for not being fit enough and his antics on social media.

Celtic fans, can you get 8/8 on this quiz on forgotten players? First up: who is this?

More recently, the former Hoops boss had criticised the forward once again, saying that Griffiths needed to push himself more and he was one of the players who wasn’t contributing enough.

These Celtic fans want Griffiths gone from the club in the summer and they seem sure about it.

Griffiths’ fitness issues aren’t a good thing for the club and the former Hibernian man has been facing injury issues over the years. This has led to reduced game time this season for him, which isn’t a positive sign going forward.

Keeping his age in mind as well, perhaps it would be wise for Celtic to move on from Griffiths in the summer.
