Fans of Celtic have taken to Twitter to criticise the Hoops centre-forward, Odsonne Edouard, following the Bhoys’ exit in the Scottish Cup on Sunday.
In the fixture itself, yet another disappointing performance by Celtic in an Old Firm clash saw Rangers continue in their quest to secure a domestic double this season, besting John Kennedy’s side 2-0.
However, Celtic did have chances to get back into the game, with two of the bigger opportunities landing at the feet of Edouard, who subsequently blazed one volley over the bar with the goal at his mercy, before also missing a penalty late on – with the Frenchman’s performance earning him a 5/10 match rating from 90min.
And, in reaction to Edouard’s display against Rangers, fans of Celtic flocked to Twitter to have their say on the 23-year-old’s performance, with many appearing far from happy with the apparent lack of effort put in by the striker.
Should Celtic sell Edouard this summer?
Yes
No
So, what exactly did these Celtic fans have to say in reaction to Odsonne Edouard’s performance against Rangers?
“The arrogance and apathy of Edouard today was unbelievable.”
“Get him sold – no appetite, no desire.”
“That’s not the same player mate. His attitude’s rotten.”
“Edouard has already left. His demeanour says it all. Awful.”
“Edouard is the biggest passenger out the lot, lucky to get £10m for him, would be better playing Montgomery the rest of the season!”
“That was a shocking performance from Edouard. Lazy touches, lazy look, lazy performance. Take the money and run.”
All in all, it would appear as if these Celtic fans were far from happy with the performance of Edouard on Sunday, and, considering the way the Hoops’ season has gone this year, perhaps it would be better for the club to cash in on the striker this summer, in order to fund something of an overhaul at Parkhead – as some of these fans suggested.
