Lots of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to voice their thoughts at the latest comments to emerge from the former Liverpool ace, Robbie Fowler.
Writing in his column for the Daily Mirror (relayed by Football.London), the 46-year-old has appealed for his former club to make a move for Tottenham’s Harry Kane ahead of the summer transfer window.
Will Kane push for a summer exit?
Speculation surrounding the future of the 27-year-old Spurs striker has ramped up in recent weeks following a poor run of form for the Lilywhites which saw them dumped out of the Europa League.
With the two Manchester clubs tipped for a summer raid for Kane, Fowler wrote of his thoughts on how Kane could potentially replace Roberto Firmino in the Liverpool side.
He said: “But here’s a shout. Kane is now doing the job at Spurs that Roberto Firmino has done for Liverpool so well over the past years. And you could argue that, with his goals, Harry does that job even better.”
In response, Spurs fans flocked to a tweet relaying the quotes and it fair to say they were not amused by Fowler’s comments.
“Laughable. They cant afford him. These ex players need to keep quiet.”
“Honestly. Like Liverpool, or any other club at the moment can afford him”
“Couldn’t afford him, not even close”
“dream on you Liverpool fans”
“They can’t afford him. Basically in the Prem only City really can with the fees and wages.”
Kane has been in stunning form for Spurs this season having scored 21 goals in his 30 Premier League appearances which has him sitting top of the Premier League top scorers tally.
All in all, it is apparent from the reaction of these Spurs fans they were not amused by Fowler’s comments and will hope to see their main man in the lilywhite shirt in the 2021/22 Premier League campaign.
