Celtic supporters have been reacting to Callum McGregor’s call for a strong performance against Dundee United over the weekend.

The Hoops midfielder has said ahead of Sunday’s encounter at Tannadice: “At Celtic, you win every game, and that’s what we have to get back to. We have to get back to that ruthless mentality where we’re fully prepared, understanding our roles within the team and putting that all together.”

However, the Hoops fans don’t appear to share the 27-year-old’s sentiments. The Glasgow giants trail their city rivals by 18 points in the Scottish Premiership standings, and Steven Gerrard’s men need just four more points to clinch the title, ending Celtic’s nine-year dominance in the process.

With the two Old Firm foes coming head-to-head at Parkhead in the following fixture, a negative result against Micky Mellon’s men could prevent the Gers from winning the league on Celtic’s home turf, something their supporters are desperate not to see.

“The same, predictable, tiresome pre-match battle cry, to be followed by the same, predictable, tiresome on-field performance. Massive changes required in the close season from top to bottom”

@newrybhoy

“We need big players that can bring something to the table, these tippy-tappy players aren’t good enough We need leaders! Not numbers!”

@Idy2Mo

“We don’t, lose by any means necessary.”

It’s been a disastrous campaign for everyone involved with Celtic. It was meant to be a season to remember for all the right reasons, but unfortunately for them, it’s been one they won’t forget for all the wrong reasons.
