Fans of Celtic have taken to Twitter to criticise the performance of Scott Brown in the Hoops’ Scottish Premiership clash with Dundee United on Sunday.

Prior to the Dundee United fixture, Brown had been in rather disappointing form over his 24 league appearances for the Bhoys, scoring one goal, providing one assist and averaging a WhoScored match rating of 6.84 – ranking the 35-year-old as the club’s 18th-best performer in the league.

Which club did Brown join Celtic from?

And, after being given the nod for his 19th start in the league in the club’s clash with Dundee United on Sunday, it appeared as if many fans of Celtic were once again disappointed with the £900k-rated midfielder’s display, as a great many of them took to Twitter to share their anger with the club captain’s performance in the match.

So, what exactly did these Celtic fans have to say in reaction to Scott Brown’s performance against Dundee United?

“Scott Brown looks shattered.”

@cuish1888

“I know I’ve sounded the same all season but Scott Brown is the biggest let down this season. Absolutely set the standards for shoddy performances and somehow it took effect on the full squad. Morale and performance are his go-to and somehow he’s not even setting his own standards.”

@huntsey1967

“Scott Brown is done. He’s giving the ball away all the time now. Get him off before he costs us a goal.”

@arnb1976

“Kennedy showing nothing here. Celtic need a big overhaul. I wouldn’t keep any of the loan players and surety Soro has to start. Brown should not get a playing contract next season.”

@joeforbes67

“Started well and ever so slightly faded away. Brown constantly putting teammates under pressure with terrible passes. Not clinical enough in front of goal. Turnbull needs to come into the game more. Need another striker on.”

@madbhoab

“I was just sitting there thinking how bad brown has been. Decision making has been shocking. But he isn’t doing my nut in as much as faddy saying ask the question every 2 mins.”

@Prentybhoy67

All in all, it would appear as if these Celtic fans were far from happy with the performance of Brown against Dundee United, and, considering the midfielder’s SofaScore match rating of 6.7 ranked him as the Hoops’ worst player in the match, it is not difficult to understand why.
