Leeds United fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest social media post from Whites defender and captain Liam Cooper.

This comes after Cooper recently shared a post on his official Twitter page quote-tweeting a post from the club’s official account commemorating the one-year anniversary of the last time fans were at Elland Road.

Nice easy one to start off with, what number does Phillips wear for Leeds United?

In the caption to his post, Cooper suggested that it won’t be long until the fans are allowed back in the stadium and that something tells him that “the roof could come off” when the Leeds fans do eventually return to Elland Road to watch their team play.

This post from Cooper then gathered a lot of replies from Leeds fans who were quick to share their responses.

So, what did these Leeds fans have to say in response to Cooper’s latest post?

“don’t tease me coops”

@callumlufc

“The ground is going to shake it will be that loud. Pent up support will flow to you and the team. MOT”

@payne_unlimited

“We hope so Liam it’s been a year of agony. Want to get back into the church and sing the MOT hymn”

@leedsutdlenny

“I can’t wait man”

@Liamdestroyer39

“Be an emotional return as we say our goodbyes to the legends we lost over the course of the year”

@leebennett1979

“Expect a delayed pitch invasion skip & warn the lads. The new ones won’t know what’s hit em”

@reckoner29

Looking at the replies to Cooper’s post, it appears that these Leeds fans are desperate to get back to Elland Road and watch Marcelo Bielsa’s side in action once again. This shows just how loyal and dedicated these supporters are to their club.

So far this season, Leeds have won 11 out of their 26 played league games prior to their match against West Ham United on Monday, drawing two and losing 13 in the process (per BBC Sport).

Given how the Leeds fans have had to wait 16 years to see their team play in the Premier League after being promoted from the Championship last year, to then not being able to watch them live at Elland Road or at any other stadium, seems rather disheartening in our view.

Do you think fans will be allowed to return to stadiums before the end of this season?

Yes

Yes

No

No

Moving forward, hopefully, Cooper’s message rings true and that fans are allowed back in stadiums soon.

With Boris Johnson revealing back in February that up to 10,000 fans could be back in stadiums by mid-May as part of the government’s plans to move England out of lockdown, there’s every opportunity that some Leeds fans could be back at Elland Road before the season ends.
