Fans of Celtic have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relayed a report regarding Hoops left-back Diego Laxalt.

Since joining Celtic from AC on a season-long loan deal last October, Laxalt has gone on to make 17 Scottish Premiership appearances for , scoring one goal, as well as making an average of 1.8 tackles, 1.2 interceptions and 0.6 key passes per match, culminating in an average WhoScored match rating of 6.84/10 – ranking him as the club’s joint 17th-best performer in the Scottish top flight.

How much do you think members of the Bhoys' squad are worth according to Transfermarkt? Starting with an easy one how much do you think Odsonne Edouard is worth?

Earlier this year, Laxalt had reportedly turned down approaches from , while apparently having a permanent Celtic switch in his sights (as per the Daily Record).

And following the £57,000-per-week 28-year-old’s performance against Rangers on Sunday, The Celtic Star claimed that the defender proved that Celtic should move to make his loan deal a permanent one this summer.

However, after the report was relayed on Twitter, fans of Celtic flocked to have their say on the matter, with many appearing to disagree with the claim regarding Laxalt.

Should Celtic sign Laxalt permanently this summer?

So, what exactly did these Celtic fans have to say in reaction to the report regarding Diego Laxalt?

“Why? His first job is to defend, never closes the man down and allows the cross to come in all the time. Nowhere near the level needed.”

“Because of one decent game? Not good enough IMO.”

“Eh, no. He played alright, still can’t stop crosses, positionally found out & his own final ball leaves a lot to be desired. Kenny always looks to go backwards, even in acres of space. One decent ball in & also can’t seem to stop crosses coming in. No thanks to both.”

“Couldn’t find Edouard with a five-yard pass. Lots of endeavour lacks real quality.”

“Byline player. Absolutely not. Should watch KT’s video on how it’s done.”

“He is rank rotten!”

All in all, it would appear as if these Celtic fans are firmly against the idea of their club making a move to sign Laxalt permanently this summer, and, considering the left-back’s rather disappointing average WhoScored match rating, it is not difficult to understand why.
