Fans of Leeds United have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relayed a report regarding interest in a move for the Whites centre-forward, Rodrigo Moreno, this summer.
Since arriving at Leeds from Valencia in what was a £27 million deal last August, things have not got off to the best of starts for the striker at Elland Road, with the 30-year-old scoring three goals and registering one assist over his 20 Premier League appearances for Marcelo Bielsa’s side, as well as averaging a rather disappointing WhoScored match rating of just 6.54 – ranking him as the Whites’ ninth-worst performer in the top flight.
According to recent reports in Spain (via Leeds Live), the £18 million-rated Spain international could be on his way out of the club after just one season, with Real Betis and Sevilla both said to be keen on a move for the centre-forward this summer.
And, after Through It All Together relayed this report on Twitter, fans of Leeds flocked to have their say on the matter, with some seeming to accept the prospect of Rodrigo departing Elland Road at the end of the season, however, others appeared rather less hospitable to the news.
Should Leeds sell Rodrigo this summer?
So, what exactly did these Leeds United fans have to say in reaction to the report regarding Rodrigo?
“I could see it tbh. Hasn’t really worked out for him.”
“Hope this isn’t true, it looked like he was enjoying himself here. Still got a part to play for us, he’s got that quality about him.”
“Probably a pinch of salt but I called this a few weeks back. Something’s just not right about the whole situation. With him unable to displace Bamford and it ain’t happening anytime soon, I’d be in favour of selling him and bringing someone a lot younger and less injury-prone.”
“Get rid. The end.”
“Don’t see this, seems really happy.”
“Meh. He needs to be injury-free and unsettle Bamford. Besides, he’s being coached up by one of the greatest coaches in the game.”
All in all, it would seem as if the reaction of these Leeds fans is somewhat mixed regarding the report linking Rodrigo with a summer exit from the club, however, considering the hefty fee Marcelo Bielsa’s side shelled out for the 30-year-old last summer, in addition to his rather underwhelming return of goals this season, perhaps it is not the most outlandish idea in the world that Victor Orta could look to move the £100,000-per-week Spaniard on in the summer transfer window.
