Many Celtic fans have been fuming at the latest comments of former player Kris Commons, who has talked about Mohamed Elyounoussi and Greg Taylor.
Commons was recently talking to the Daily Mail (via Daily Record). He said that hardly a week goes by without some Celtic fans ‘slaughtering’ Taylor and he is viewed as an ‘easy target’ by the club’s fans. He believes that fans criticise the Scotsman because he’s not Kieran Tierney and described it as a ‘cheap shot’.
The former Hoops midfielder also said that if Celtic fans are looking to criticise someone, then Elyounoussi’s performances deserve ‘greater scrutiny’. He believes that the Norwegian doesn’t look like the sort of player he was last season and he doesn’t see where the Southampton loanee can fit in.
The Daily Record relayed a tweet about these comments from Commons. The tweet caught the attention of many Celtic fans, who made their feelings clear about Commons.
Commons was an average player who was very lucky to play for Celtic. He is now an ex-Celt who bears grudges clearly and will disrespect his old club for money. Yuk. Irrelevant person. Next.

Is Commons right about Elyounoussi and Taylor?
Yes
No
If he thinks Elyonoussi was outstanding last season he wasn’t watching many games. He missed most of the season through injury.

Taylor has picked up a rating of 7.02/10 in the Premiership this season and started six Premiership games for the Bhoys. Meanwhile, Elyounoussi has started four league games and come on from the bench twice, only to pick up a rather unimpressive rating of 6.56 in the campaign so far (as per WhoScored).
Some other Celtic fans criticised Commons for his comments and they mocked him for what he had to say.
Elyounoussi is ten times the player Commons was. Wish this guy would just stop talking. Been over three years since he left us, still bitter that Brendan exiled him and was onto him within two seconds. https://t.co/aWitflUAkG

Kris Commons still has a grudge against Celtic I see? Brendan Rodgers was right to exile him as soon as he came in. A bad egg. https://t.co/RL8qqMUp5p

In the Premiership, Elyounoussi is yet to score a single goal and has assisted just once. However, last season, Elyounoussi had started the campaign very well and had scored four goals in his first five league games.
It seems Elyounoussi has endured a disappointing campaign, while Taylor’s rating for the season suggests that he’s had a pretty decent start. So perhaps, Commons is right in his assessment of the two players, despite Celtic fans’ anger at his comments.
