Jack Pitt-Brooke, Charlie Eccleshare and James Maw discussed all things Tottenham Hotspur on the most recent edition of The View From The Lane podcast and the journalists spent some time talking about Gareth Bale and when he could potentially be back in action for the north London club.

Bale’s loan move back to Spurs from Real Madrid was announced last Saturday. The winger will not be available for selection immediately, as he is recovering from a knee injury at present.

As per The Guardian, ‘Spurs anticipate Bale being match fit after the October international break.’ Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho has been optimistic about the attacker’s recovery from injury, as this same article from The Guardian shares some comments from him suggesting that Bale’s recovery may be shortened due to his motivation being high following his loan move to Tottenham.

During this recent edition of The View From The Lane podcast, Eccleshare spent some time discussing when Bale could potentially make his first appearance for Spurs following his loan move, saying: “He’s arrived with an injury, but I don’t think it’s anything serious and the hope is that he’ll make his debut after the international break in early October, so that would mean playing for the first time in about mid-October.

“There’s a game against West Ham – a team he knows very well, having that amazing double he scored against them in March [February] 2013, it must have been, so yeah, his first game could be against West Ham in mid-October.”

TIF Thoughts…

So, as can be seen in what the journalist had to say, he seems to believe that Bale will be out of action until mid-October and has named Tottenham’s Premier League clash with West Ham United on 17th October as the game that may see the Welshman make his first appearance for the Lilywhites since 2013.

This would mean that Tottenham would play just two more Premier League games without Bale, before having him available, which we imagine may be an exciting prospect for the club’s supporters.
