Many Celtic fans have been talking about the latest tweet that the club recently posted on social media.
The club’s tweet shared the news that Celtic will face Riga in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League. Full details about the tie are yet to be confirmed.
The Hoops lost to Ferencvaros in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League last month and as a result, they have to ply their trade in the Europa League, beginning with the third qualifying round of the competition.
The tweet about Celtic’s Europa League third qualifying round tie against Riga caught the attention of many Celtic fans, who began talking about the upcoming fixture.
I’ll maybe watch from behind the couch. Just incase.

Celtic faced a delay in knowing who their opponents in the third qualifying round of the Europa League were going to be, as Riga’s second-round qualifying clash against Tre Fiori was abandoned because of high winds. It was played later on and the Latvian side progressed (as per Daily Record).
The winner of the tie involving Celtic and Riga will face the winner of the game between FK Sarajevo and Buducnost Podgorica.
Some other Celtic fans also talked about the club’s tweet regarding the announcement of the fixture.
Ah stg if Celtic bottle this… I will cry https://t.co/JIpQqDCieZ

Some of these Celtic fans are making it clear that they won’t be happy if the club loses to Riga, but one particular fan says that he isn’t too bothered about it as he’s more interested in seeing Celtic win the Premiership title.
The Hoops can look back at their performances in the Europa League last season to seek some positivity. They beat Serie A giants Lazio on two occasions and beat French side Rennes in the group stages of the competition as well. They also managed to beat Cluj, who had knocked them out of the Champions League qualifying stages last season (as per Transfermarkt).
So Celtic fans should remain positive and hope that the Bhoys beat Riga and make progress in the qualifying stages of the Europa League.
