Aston Villa podcaster Dan Morgan has been sharing his thoughts on the Birmingham club making a potential transfer move for Norwich City winger Emiliano Buendia.

This comes after Morgan recently hosted the latest episode of The Villa Filler Podcast that was uploaded on a Villa-themed YouTube channel called Heart of The Holte.

Jack Grealish quiz: First up, how old is the Villa captain?

After Buendia, who has been linked with a move to Villa in the past, recently told PA News Agency (via TEAMtalk) that he wants to play in the Premier League again after his Norwich side were relegated to the Championship towards the end of the 2019/20 season, Morgan had this to say on a potential move to Villa Park for the winger.

He said: “Emi Buendia of Norwich is allegedly available for as little as £10-15 million, which, I mean, we all know that the Norwich owners aren’t the richest and Norwich are quite smart in how they recruit players and are able to flip players for a profit.

“I think anywhere in that region is an absolute steal for what Buendia can offer. I’m not quite sure where his best position would be, I’ve seen some say he can play centrally, obviously, we’ve seen him play out wide. Again, [it] depends on where Jack [Grealish] plays and whatnot, but Emi is a really exciting player that, as I say, if you can pick him up for that low, why not?”

Norwich signed Buendia, who is currently valued at £13.05 million according to Transfermarkt, back in the 2018 summer transfer window from Spanish club Getafe in a deal worth a reported fee of £1.35 million.

The 23-year-old was Norwich’s best performer during their 2019/20 Premier League campaign, earning himself a season rating of 7.08/10 for his performances in the 36 league appearances he made (per WhoScored).

TIF Thoughts…

Back in August, it was reported that Norwich would be looking for a fee of £20 million to sell Buendia in the current transfer window, but with some weeks having passed by, perhaps the club could have dropped their asking price to the fees that were mentioned by Morgan in the podcast.

Either way, we feel like Buendia could be a good addition to Villa’s squad after having had a good individual season with Norwich last year, despite their relegation.
