Many Leeds United have flocked to the club’s tweet announcing that Mateusz Bogusz has signed a new contract with the Yorkshire-based outfit.
The youngster has extended his stay at the club by signing a three-year deal that will see him remain at Elland Road until 2023. According to the Leeds website, the midfielder played 20 times for the Under-23s last season and made his first-team debut last August in the EFL Cup against Stoke City.
The Whites recently confirmed the signing of teenager Joe Gelhardt from Wigan, so you could argue that as well as preparing for their first Premier League campaign in 16 years next season, the Whites are very much planning for the future.
Here is how a sample of the club’s supporters have responded to the announcement on Twitter:

Do you expect Mateusz Bogusz to be sent out on loan?
Yes
No
Whilst many were pleased to learn of the news, others clearly believe that the player will be going out on loan in order to get more first-team football under his belt.
Who’s he going on loan to….
— Lee Goddard (@Godders17) August 11, 2020
And an immediate loan to the championship? ?

We believe those fans who have suggested the player’s future has been secured with a view to sending him out on loan could be correct in their assessment of the club’s plans for Bogusz’s immediate future, given the lack of first-team opportunities he has been afforded at Elland Road so far.
