Many Celtic fans have been discussing the latest news involving Odsonne Edouard that recently emerged on social media.

Edouard’s agent Lasana Koita was recently talking to the Daily Record and he addressed the Celtic striker’s future. He revealed that the Frenchman is ‘happy’ at Parkhead even though he is ‘disappointed’ with the club’s recent loss to Ferencvaros in the UEFA Champions League qualifying stages.

The agent confirmed that he will talk to Edouard and they will ‘wait’ because Celtic have the target of the Europa League and the target of winning their tenth Premiership title in a row. He also said that helping Celtic to win their tenth Premiership title in a row is ‘important’ for Edouard.

Do you believe Edouard will stay for the ten?

Yes, he'll stay

No, he'll leave

No, he'll leave

Here’s what he had to say in full: “Odsonne is happy at Celtic and enjoys life in Scotland. He is disappointed with the result on Wednesday especially as he was injured and could not play. I think the goal was certainly to qualify for the Champions League. That is football.

“I will speak with him. It is not crucial for Odsonne to be playing in the Champions League but it is important.

“We are going to wait because there is still a target for Celtic. There’s the Europa League and to go for 10 titles. Ten titles is important for Odsonne. We don’t know what will happen. For now he is with Celtic. We don’t discuss with any other team for now.”

This information was relayed on Twitter by the Daily Record and it caught the attention of many Celtic fans. They made their opinion very clear.

Following Celtic’s 2-1 loss to Ferencvaros on Wednesday, Neil Lennon criticised the team and urged them to get their ‘mentality right’ and ‘attitude right’. He said that if some players don’t want to be at Parkhead, they can leave (as per BBC Sport).

Edouard has been linked with a move to Aston Villa in recent days. His agent’s comments caught the attention of some other Celtic fans as well.

These Celtic fans took a lot of positives from what Edouard’s agent had to say. The Frenchman has already found the back of the net four times in all competitions this season. He scored a hat-trick in their Premiership season opener against Hamilton Academical.

He finished as the highest scorer in the Premiership last season as well. That is a reflection of how important a player he is for them and losing the Frenchman can prove to be a problem for the Bhoys. So they must try their best to keep him this summer.
