The Express and Star’s Joe Edwards has recently discussed the transfer links between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Portuguese duo Paulinho and Joao Palhinha.

According to a recent report by the Daily Mail, the Old Gold are ‘in talks’ with Sporting Braga over a deal to sign Paulinho for £23m.

A separate report from O Jogo, as cited by Sport Witness, has also recently reported that Wolves are ‘on top of the process’ to sign Sporting CP midfielder Palhinha – who is valued at €15m (£13.4m) by his club.

So, in the latest episode of the E&S Wolves Podcast, Edwards discussed what he knows about the two transfer links.

To kick-off this quiz on Nuno Espirito Santo on the hard side, which club was his first game on the touchline at Molineux against?

He said: “Player-wise, I mentioned earlier in the week that Paulinho and Palhinha, Wolves haven’t made a move for either of them.

“They’ve obviously been heavily linked in the Portuguese media but as I understand it, they’ve not made an approach for either player.

“I think it’s more kind of just drumming up interest in those players more than anything else at this stage.

“Of course, I wouldn’t want to rule anything out entirely but there’s nothing of substance at this stage.”

TIF Thoughts…

As can be seen in what the Express and Star journalist had to say, it seems that there is nothing in the two transfer rumours at the current stage.

Would you like to see Wolves sign the Portuguese duo in the summer transfer window?

No, we can do better

No, we can do better

Yes, they seem talented

Yes, they seem talented

That is despite the fact that it was stated in the Daily Mail’s report that Braga were ‘confident of reaching an agreement over Paulinho’.

However, it was stated in Sport Witness’ report that a deal for Wolves to sign Palhinha ‘doesn’t seem so close to happening’.

So, it seems that the Molineux faithful will just have to wait and see if something more concrete develops regarding the two players over the summer transfer window.
