Fans of Leeds United have been reacting to a post on Twitter, in which former Leeds striker Luciano Becchio reacted to the club’s 1-0 victory over Barnsley on Thursday evening.
The Whites’ victory saw them move five points clear of second-placed West Bromwich Albion at the top of the table, and, perhaps more importantly, six points ahead of third-placed Brentford.
As such, with just two fixtures of the season remaining for Leeds, the club require just one more point to secure automatic promotion to the Premier League – though results from elsewhere could send them up before they take on Derby County this Sunday.
And, shortly following the club’s result, former Leeds forward Luciano Becchio tweeted: “Yesssssssssssssssss”
In reaction to his post, fans of Leeds flocked to have their say on the matter, with many praising their former striker, while others, perhaps jokingly, called for Becchio to make a return to the club.

Becchio played for Leeds between 2008 and 2013, featuring 219 times for the club, scoring 86 goals and providing 20 assists.
Was Becchio one of your favourite Leeds strikers?
Yes
No
And, despite having not played for the club for seven years, it would seem that many of the Leeds fans still hold their former striker in extremely high regard.

Despite being 36 years old, as well as the small matter of being retired from professional football, it would seem that many of these Leeds fans would love for Becchio to be involved with the squad for the fixture against Derby, in which anything but a defeat would see the club promoted to the Premier League.
