Many Celtic fans have been talking about the latest news linking them with a move to sign Albian Ajeti.

Sky Sports recently reported that the Hoops are currently in advanced talks to sign Ajeti on loan from West Ham. The report claims that the Bhoys are looking to sign him on an initial loan deal and will have the option to buy him permanently. It is also stated that the prospect of playing European football with Celtic has appealed to Ajeti.

Starting with an easy one- apart from Paris Saint-Germain, which other French club did Edouard play for?

Interestingly, Sky Sports news editor shared the news via his personal Twitter account, which caught the attention of many Celtic fans:

Will you be happy if Celtic sign Ajeti?

Would be a good move

Ajeti had initially joined West Ham in the summer of 2019 from Swiss club Basel. Since joining the London club, the 23-year-old has made only nine Premier League appearances and is yet to score a single first-team goal for the Hammers.

Some more Celtic fans made their opinions about Ajeti clear and they also seemed to like this deal.

These Celtic fans seem to think Ajeti would be a good signing for the Hoops, with some claiming that the loan with the option to buy could be a pretty viable option for the Bhoys.

Ajeti had a very good record for Basel. He made 93 appearances in all competitions for the club and found the back of the net 43 times and even picked up a tally of 21 assists. It shows that he can a reliable contributor to goals on his day (via Transfermarkt).

So there is a chance that he does score some goals if he joins Celtic. Considering that Leigh Griffiths was excluded from the club’s pre-season squad that travelled to France, with Neil Lennon also openly criticising the striker, are potential signs that the club isn’t happy with him. So, in our opinion, replacing Griffiths with someone like Ajeti would be a good move.
