Many Celtic fans have been fuming at Scott Bain following his performance in the pre-season friendly against Paris Saint-Germain.
The Hoops recently fell to a 4-0 defeat to Le Parisiens in their third pre-season friendly in France. Thomas Tuchel’s men scored in the very first minute of the game through Kylian Mbappe, while Neymar scored in the 25th minute. Ander Herrera got the third just after half time and Pablo Sarabia rounded off the scoring (via Daily Record).
Bain had started between the sticks for the Hoops, but his performance didn’t leave too many Celtic fans pleased. Fans took to Twitter and made their anger very clear.
These Hoops fans seem to be clear that Bain isn’t good enough to be the club’s first-choice goalkeeper. One fan even feels that the Hoops should part ways with the shot-stopper, with another saying he is just not good enough for the first team.
If Scott Bain is our no1 this year we have problems – wrists as weak as quavers

Is Bain good enough to be Celtic's first-choice goalkeeper
Yes, he is
No, he is poor
Been saying this for a long time he’s a reserve keeper at best

They weren’t the only Celtic fans who fumed at Bain’s performance, with some saying that the Hoops should sign Fraser Forster soon.

Clearly, many Celtic fans wouldn’t like to see Bain at Parkhead for too long and some indeed want the club to pursue the signature of Forster.
Bain wasn’t a regular in the 2019/20 season for the Hoops. He made only two Premiership appearances, playing eight times in all competitions, including five Champions League qualifying games (via Transfermarkt).
This shows that Bain might indeed not deserve to be Celtic’s first-choice goalkeeper, and perhaps shows why Neil Lennon is said to be looking for a new number one, with things having gone quiet in their pursuit of former ‘keeper Forster.
