Leeds United’s official club Twitter account caught the attention of many Whites supporters recently after they posted a tweet on Sunday 14th June sharing that “15,000 Crowdies have been ordered by fans”.
This post includes a link to an article from the club’s official website which explains that Leeds United’s Season Ticket holders were given the option to “create and design their own personalised Crowdie to support the team inside Elland Road” as a part of their Season Ticket rebate option. The article goes on to state that this option has been an “extremely popular” one with the club’s fans.
As per the EFL’s official website, the Championship is currently set to restart on the weekend of 20th June, with the league’s remaining fixtures set to be played behind closed doors. This decision resulted in this Season Ticket rebate option being created by Leeds United.
? #LUFC will be taking more! So far 15,000 Crowdies have been ordered by fans, and will be backing the lads during our final five home games!

Considering that Leeds fans will be unable to attend their remaining league fixtures for the 2019/20 campaign, it may be nice for them to have the opportunity to see themselves represented in Elland Road in the form of a Crowdie. This may explain why so many Whites supporters opted to take advantage of this opportunity.
