Supporters of Leeds United have been reacting to a Twitter post which shared who would be in charge of the Whites’ next Championship clash.
On Tuesday, @El_Loco_Jo relayed that the referee for the Elland Road club’s game against Fulham will be Tony Harrington.
Her tweet shared that the referee was in charge during Marcelo Bielsa’s side’s defeat against Wigan Athletic earlier this season and he was also the fourth official against Millwall the week before that.
Prior to that, Harrington was the man in the middle during Leeds’ 3-3 draw with Cardiff City at home in December.
So, following the post on social media about the referee, some Leeds supporters aired their responses.
Referee for our game against Fulham on Saturday is, Tony Harrington. The Cleveland ref last took charge in the home loss to Wigan earlier this season. He was 4th official in the farcical Millwall home game the previous week. Before that, he reffed the 3-3 Cardiff home game.#lufc pic.twitter.com/kpU1QA5GWp

He has done ok for us to be fair certainly not a ref with an axe to grind or make it all about him on the pitch. Hartlepool fan my missus knows him and gives him my feedback so we should be ok ? #lufc

A further Twitter post from @El_Loco_Jo shared some statistics on the referee from Leeds’ and Fulham’s previous matches that he has been in charge of.
Notably not giving us a pen in the Cardiff game when Costa was brought down.

Pen for 3 against 2Fulham:
G7 W5 D1 L1
Y10 R0 Rx2Y- 1
Pen for 0 against 4#lufc 2/3— Jo Bedford ? (@El_Loco_Jo) June 23, 2020
That no-penalty decision against Costa was disgraceful. Hopefully he thinks he owes us one ?

To be fair in the same game he gave one for a foul on Bamford that was not a penalty so he righted that wrong in the same game, think he’s decent to be fair, cue a shocker now! ?

Are you bothered about updates on refereeing appointments? No, doesn't make a differenceYes, I like to know who's in charge |
Leeds’ clash with Fulham is scheduled to take place at Elland Road on Saturday with a 3pm kick-off (per BBC).
The match gives Bielsa’s outfit the opportunity to extend their lead in the automatic promotion spots to as many as 10 points depending on other results (per BBC).
As can be seen in these responses from Leeds supporters, there was a mixed bag of reactions to the Twitter post on the referee appointment for the clash.
