The Yorkshire Evening Post’s Graham Smyth has been teasing some of the Leeds United supporters on Twitter having disguised a post pointing people in the direction of Angus Kinnear’s words with the following caption: ‘Our loanee’s last appearance after a successful spell, as his parent club recalls him. We wish him all the best for the future.’

The Whites have had a number of players on loan this season, including Ben White from Brighton and Hove Albion, Jack Harrison from Manchester City and Helder Costa from Wolves. Therefore, you can understand why the post may have sent some supporters into panic mode when you consider Marcelo Bielsa’s men still have nine league fixtures to fulfil.

To kick things off what season is this from?

Here is how a sample of the Elland Road faithful have responded to the post.

While it turns out that Smyth was jokingly speaking on behalf of the YEP as guest columnist Kinnear ended his ‘loan spell’ with Leeds’ return to action nearing its comeback, it’s clear from the above responses that these fans were given a fright when they read Smyth’s tweet. Others commented on Kinnear’s piece for the Yorkshire Evening Post and were complimentary of what the Leeds United chief had to say.

The Whites will be hoping to secure promotion back to the Premier League for the first time since their relegation at the end of the 2003/04 season. They currently sit top of the Championship, a point clear of West Bromwich Albion but more significantly seven points clear of Fulham in third.
