Some Celtic fans have been talking about the latest news update involving Odsonne Edouard that recently emerged on social media.

The Sunday Times recently reported that Tottenham Hotspur have been scouting Edouard on a regular basis this season. They see the Frenchman as a replacement or as a backup to Harry Kane. The report went on to say that Celtic would only consider bids of over £25 million – the fee that Arsenal had paid to sign Kieran Tierney last summer.

The Daily Record relayed this information on Twitter. This caught the attention of many Celtic fans, with many flocking to the tweet to slam the publication for sharing this news.

Can Edouard replace Harry Kane at Tottenham?

He surely can!

These Celtic fans don’t seem to believe the news, while it is clear that they don’t want Edouard to leave.

The 2019/20 season has seen Edouard find the back of the net on a regular basis for the Hoops. The Frenchman scored 27 times in all competitions, while also picking up 19 assists. In the Premiership, the striker scored 21 goals and also racked up 12 assists for the Parkhead side (via Transfermarkt).

This shows the importance of Edouard to Celtic. Many more Celtic fans made their opinions known and said that the Hoops won’t let their striker on the cheap.

These comments display just how much Edouard means to Celtic fans. His goalscoring tally shows that he can be crucial in helping the Hoops win the title next season in what would be a 10th Premiership title in a row.

But considering he has been linked with the likes of Arsenal, Newcastle United and Leicester City in the past, no one really knows how things will turn out for Edouard and Celtic.
