Some Celtic fans have been discussing the latest tweet that the SPFL recently relayed on social media.

The tweet from the SPFL concerned the 2019/20 Premiership’s Team of the Season. The tweet revealed the results of the poll to decide the Premiership’s goalkeeper in the league’s Team of the Season – with Celtic’s Fraser Forster getting 47% of the votes.

The SPFL’s tweet confirmed that while Forster won the vote, Allan McGregor finished second, with 44% of the vote. Motherwell’s Mark Gillespie finished third on just 4%, while Aberdeen ‘keeper Joe Lewis finished with only 2%. The tweet revealed that over 155,000 fans voted on this poll.

Forster finishing as the winner left many other Celtic fans raving. They flocked to the tweet to make their opinions known.

Forster’s achievement seems to mean a lot to these Celtic fans. The goalkeeper was a regular between the sticks for the Hoops this season. He made 39 appearances in all competitions, with 28 coming in the Premiership, where kept 14 clean sheets in total (via Transfermarkt).

The 32-year-old was crucial in big games for Celtic, as he saved penalties in the League Cup final and against Copenhagen in the first leg of their last-32 knockout tie in the Europa League.

That is a clear reflection of why he means a lot to Celtic. The club’s fans can only hope that they can keep Forster at the club, with his loan stint set to expire at the end of this month.
