Many Celtic supporters have been reacting to a recent post from the club informing them of the new season ticket renewal deadline.

The Hoops were crowned Scottish Premiership champions for the ninth consecutive time last month after it was decided that season could not be concluded due to the global pandemic (as per BBC Sport).

At the time of the league’s suspension, Neil Lennon’s side were 13 points clear at the top of the division, although their closest challengers had a game in hand. As preparations begin for the 2020/21 campaign, the club are asking the fans to join them and get behind the team by urging them to renew their season tickets before 30 June.

The communication goes on to say that they expect the Scottish Premiership to return on 1 August ‘with the initial league games kicking off behind closed doors’.

Here is how a sample of the Parkhead faithful have responded to the post on Twitter.

Are you satisfied with the club's plans for season ticket holders?

It’s clear from the above responses that these supporters aren’t happy with the club’s communication. Celtic announced that they are ‘liaising closely with the Government and the SPFL’ to bring the fans back to the stadium ‘sooner rather than later’.

However, in the meantime, they will provide season ticket holders with an exclusive ‘Online Pass to Paradise’ by adding virtual services to the season ticket package in order to compensate for the games that fans are unable to attend. These supporters continued to voice their displeasure.

Whilst we appreciate these are unprecedented times and the opening of the stadium to large crowds is out of the club’s hands, based on the above comments, the solution Celtic have come up with will face much opposition from sections of their support.
