A transfer link which touted a possible exit for Raul Jimenez from Molineux has been branded as “unbelievable” by the Express and Star journalist Nathan Judah.

Last week, reports emerged linking the Mexican forward with a departure from Molineux for as little as €20 million (£17.8m) (per TuttoJuve).

The story was then picked up by The Sun, which stated that the Old Gold ‘face a battle’ to keep the striker on their books after ‘lowering their asking price’.

To start easy with this quiz on Wolves kits, which brand is the current kit maker of the Old Gold's kits?

As mentioned in the report, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus are supposedly circling for the 29-year-old.

However, during the latest edition of the E&S Wolves podcast, Judah and Joe Edwards looked to pour cold water on the rumours.

Having relayed the story, Judah stated that it was “unbelievable” and Edwards reiterated what his co-host had said, describing the story was “complete and utter tripe”.

TIF Thoughts…

It seems without a doubt that Judah’s and Edwards’ words will be welcomed by Wolves fans due to Jimenez being a key man for Nuno Espirito Santo.

In the Premier League this season, the Mexican has been Wolves’ second-best performing player with a 7.29/10 average match rating behind only Adama Traore, who has a 7.61/10 average rating (per WhoScored).

Jimenez has also been impressive in the Europa League, with a 7.27/10 performance rating over seven outings – making him the third-best performer for the club in the competition.

If a £45million bid arrived for Raul Jimenez in the next transfer window, would you want it accepted?

No, he's worth more

Not only has the 29-year-old taken the most shots for the Old Gold per league game on average this term with 3.4, but he has also shown his creative force with the joint-second-most key passes per league outing with 1.4.

With Wolves being very strong in protecting a lead, too, the fact that Jimenez is strong in his defensive contributions shows that he has an impact at both ends of the pitch.

So, the idea that Wolves would sell Jimenez for €20 million (£17.8m) when he has such a key role and is valued at £36 million (per Transfermarkt) does indeed seem “unbelievable”.
