West Brom-focused journalist Joseph Masi recently posted a tweet that includes a link to an article from The Express and Star which discusses the EFL’s proposed vote on ending the 2019/20 season.
As this article explains, the EFL released a statement last week in which they explained their plans for deciding on how the 2019/20 season should be concluded. This statement explains that each division will hold a vote where they will decide on either ending or resuming the 2019/20 season, with a majority of 51% needed to curtail the season. In that event, the division’s final standings will be decided via a points-per-game model.
This article from The Express and Star explains that the Championship season being curtailed and decided via points-per-game is a real possibility, especially if West Brom and Leeds United, who currently sit in the league’s two automatic promotion places, vote to end the season.
Some Baggies fans have flocked to Masi’s tweet to share their opinions on this vote. Some have shared that they believe that the 2019/20 season will be curtailed, while others have taken this opportunity to share that they would like to see the 2019/20 season ended prematurely as it would secure promotion to the Premier League for the Baggies.

A few thoughts on the proposed EFL vote which could end the Championship season. https://t.co/SpvncLXU07 #wba

Good piece. Just end it now and work towards a new season when it’s safe.

The club’s recent public statements about wishing to complete the season are laudable but if the opportunity to achieve promotion without playing arises they have to take it. Mr. Lai would surely want that so the club’s value is restored to something like what he paid for it.

I admire Albion’s (public) stance of saying let’s play the season out and decide it all on the pitch. I can’t deny however that I would be delighted if the majority vote to end the season on PPG. This massive break has compromised the integrity of the competition no matter what.

Do you want the 2019/20 Championship season to be decided via points-per-game?YESNO |
Agreed. So many won’t want the risk of losing a few million when they feel its pretty unlikely they’d make the playoffs anyway.
I’d imagine 4th-6th and 12th-21st would be happy to call it a day. That’s 10/11 teams.

That moral compass is going to take a battering until that vote happens. Being cynical I do not think Jenkins and co will gamble on our short to mid term future despite what they say publicly

Really interesting read Joe thanks. Not as clear cut as I had hoped. If they make the vote anonymous then I guess the season would end there and then!

What do we think?
Considering that they would be promoted to the Premier League for next season without kicking another ball if the Championship clubs decided on ending the 2019/20 season, it may be understandable why some of these Baggies fans have shared that they would like to see the season get decided via points-per-game.
