While plenty of Baggies fans reacted positively to this tweet, some shared that they think Townsend looks like ex-Baggies man Igor Balis here, while one West Brom supporter shared that he thinks Townsend looks like “a young Robbo” in this image, likely referring to ex-West Brom midfielder Bryan Robson.

What do we think?
It may be fair to say that Townsend, who is currently valued at £720k according to Transfermarkt, has delivered some impressive performances for the Baggies this season. The defender has earned an average overall rating of 6.91 from his 21 Championship appearances for West Brom this term, according to WhoScored. Only five Baggies players have earned a higher average overall rating than Townsend has in the league this season.
Considering that the left-back has delivered some positive performances this season, it may be understandable why Baggies fans may be fond of him at present and why some of the club’s fans have been reacting positively to this tweet sharing an image of the player in a retro Baggies kit.
