Some Celtic fans have been talking about Patrick Roberts after a post involving the 23-year-old caught their attention recently.
The Celtic Twitter account recently posted a video sharing some highlights of one of the club’s games against Aberdeen from Roberts’ time at Parkhead. The video was from May 2016 and saw the Hoops win 3-2 against Aberdeen. The caption of the video said that Roberts scored two goals, while Mikael Lustig scored once.
On seeing this video, a lot of Celtic fans were raving about Roberts. Many of them made it clear that they would like him back at the club, while one fan accused him of ‘chasing the money’.

I can’t watch anything involving Roberts without feeling sad and bitter that we didn’t get him permanently.

Roberts joined Celtic twice on loan from Manchester City. His first stint lasted from February 2016 until May 2017. He then returned to the club from August 2017 until May 2018. (via Transfermarkt).
Currently on loan at Middlesbrough, Roberts’ Transfermarkt value stands at £2.52 million.
What do we think?
Over his two stints at Celtic, Roberts scored 18 goals and got 26 assists for the club. At Parkhead, he won three Premiership titles, two Scottish Cup titles, and two Scottish League Cup titles (via Transfermarkt).
This shows that he enjoyed some success at the club and it may also explain why these Celtic fans remember him fondly and still want him to come back at some point in the future.
