A lot of Newcastle United fans are not happy with Luke Edwards after he tweeted about the proposed takeover of the Toon.
The Daily Telegraph reporter claimed that Mike Ashley must be getting ‘impatient and frustrated’ by the delay in the deal.
However, he then said that he was going to ‘switch off’ from the takeover for the weekend.
Either way, his tweet seems to have annoyed many Newcastle fans.
What do you make of this?
Just an attempt to annoy some Newcastle fans
Might be something in it
I wonder if we see any game playing by Ashley this weekend? He must be as impatient and frustrated as buyers are by the Premier League sign off delay. I’m going to switch off from #nufc takeover for wknd, what will he will be as someone who didn’t want to say anything once said.

Why are you acting like this, its like you want it to fail, trying to wind fans up its pathetic

There is nothing he can’t do about it he’ll have to wait like everyone else is.

Why even tweet this?, us fans are going through enough. You could of just kept your mouth shut, but no. Had to stir pot. You should just switch off from NUFC takeover, end of.

Again trying to antagonise fans, what can he do if its with the Premier league, please just don’t bother talking about it until its done.

What’s he going to do? He can’t influence anything? He would only antagonise buyers, which he won’t want to do if he needs the cash?? ????bizarre statement ???? #nufc

A contract is signed. What can he do? Nothing.

Ludicrous this Luke. I dont think journalists should be deliberately winding up football fans for sport.

What do we think?
The deal for Ashley to sell the club is now out of his hands, as he has signed the relevant paperwork and received a deposit.
He might be getting frustrated, but he can’t do anything about it.
The whole success or failure of the deal comes down to the Premier League, with a decision expected at some point next week, while the buying side remains ‘overwhelmingly positive’ about the deal.
Still, they have faced numerous challenges from the likes of BeIN Sports and Amnesty International – so it will be interesting to see what the Premier League decides to do.
