Some Celtic fans have been slating Robbie Savage after a post involving him caught their attention on Twitter.
Savage was recently talking to Chris Sutton on BBC radio (via Daily Record) and he compared Celtic’s achievement of winning nine titles in a row to getting promoted from the English Championship. Sutton then went on to criticise Savage and even called him ‘bitter’ about the whole thing.
The Daily Record relayed what Savage had said on Twitter. Many Celtic fans flocked to this and made their anger at Savage very clear.

The show also had Sutton hailing the club’s latest achievement. He also claimed that two of the biggest achievements in UK club football have come from Celtic themselves, going on to say that the club winning nine in a row from 1966-1974 was a bigger achievement than Leicester City winning the Premier League title and Arsenal going the entire season undefeated (via Daily Record).
What do we think?
While many Celtic fans don’t agree with Savage, they are likely to get behind former striker Sutton fighting the Hoops’ corner in this debate.
Considering how Savage didn’t win a single major trophy in his playing career, one can see why Celtic fans are taking shots at the Welshman.
