Fans of Newcastle have been reacting to a post on Twitter, in which actor and Toon fan Steve Wraith comments on the club’s ongoing takeover deal.
In his post, Wraith states: “In every Newcastle takeover attempt there has been a period where the owner has come out and said he is growing tired of the process and that the deals off. The silence has been the biggest positive this time around. This is it #NUFC #SaudiArabia.”
In reaction to his comments, fans of the club have flocked to have their say on the matter, with many agreeing with Wraith that Mike Ashley’s silence throughout the takeover deal has been deafening, while others appear to not be so assured in the progression of the deal.
Are you confident the takeover will be completed?
Yes

Good point, plus Ashley is allegedly allowing players contracts to run down.

I don’t want to be the profit of doom.
But I think there’s a hidden agenda behind this, I honestly wouldn’t be shocked if the whole thing was a pack of lies and as first thought it was to distract us from the way he treat his staff. Now lockdown is eased a convenient vid emerges— Stuart Hinds (@SH_1993_NUFC) May 23, 2020

Well if it isnt Steve we might as well pack it all in. It feels like its there with only the incompetence of the Premier league main man holding it up. He knows it has to go through just get on with it!

What do we think?
Although some Newcastle fans still appear to be on edge as to whether or not the Premier League will give the club’s proposed takeover the green light, recent reports in The Sun have claimed that the league are ready to give the deal the go-ahead, just as soon as the transfer of funds are sorted.
As such, when taking into account Wraith’s comments on Ashley, as well as reports that the deal looks set to get the nod, it would appear that the Newcastle takeover is now a matter of when, rather than if.
